ICEF13 will be held from 23 to 26 September 2019 in Melbourne Australia! The Congress is presented by the International Association for Engineering and Food (IAEF) with support from Engineers Australia, the Australian Food Engineering Association (AFEA) and the Australian Institute of Food Science and Technology (AIFST).

The International Congress on Engineering and Food is a quadrennial event, which has been established as the major event in food engineering and related fields over the last 50 years. The Congress will highlight opportunities for engineering innovations across the food supply chains to add value and enable the sustainable manufacture of healthier food products for the global markets. Other relevant topics featured in the Congress program include food security, novel food processing technologies, food systems engineering and modelling, food properties and packaging, nutrition and health, food education, food engineering innovations in Australasia, and many more.

Professor Xiao Dong Chen

Professor Xiao Dong Chen is Soochow University Distinguished Professor and Head of School of Chemical Engineering.

He was recipient of Young Food Engineer Award at ICEF6 (Mexico, 2008) and Lifetime Achievement Award at ICEF12 (Canada, 2015).

Professor Karin Schroen

Professor Karin Schroen is from Wageningen University. She Currently heads a research group of approximately 16 people. She has been in the top 20 of best teachers of Wageningen University a number of times.

Dr Christoph Hartmann

Dr Christoph Hartmann is Nestlé Research. He took over the Consumer Science department in Nestlé Research. Since October 2018, Christoph leads Academic Alliances and Expertise Development.

Professor Bart Nicolaï

Professor Bart Nicolaï is from University of Leuven. Since 2016 he is chair of the Biosystems department at the University of Leuven and also leads the postharvest research group of this department.
